Semester 1 is done and dusted. Sort of. We still have one major essay to hand in and one exam to go but classes are finished – YAY! Cannot believe how quickly the past 12 weeks have gone!
On Monday morning we had our first exam which I think went fairly well. We were given practice questions and had an idea of what the exam would be testing so I don’t think any of us were too shocked.
After the exam, I met with my supervisor to discuss the feedback from last week’s honours presentations. Most of the feedback was fairly constructive and I now have some great ideas on how to refine and improve my literature review. I would also like to give a shout out to Dean (an Honours classmate) who provided me with some brilliant information on generation theory. Something, that I am lacking in my literature review, so Thank You!
My ethics form was also submitted. Having heard ‘stories’ about the elusive ethics committee I was skeptical of how the process was going to go. The committee got back to us almost immediately however suggested we need to make some amendments with the way in which we are going to recruit the participants. Once this has been amended and then approved I am then able to start conducting interviews on my participants. Hopefully this will all happen quite quickly and without too much drama.
This week was not as productive, study wise as I had intended. In fact it has consisted of a lot of socializing, SHOPPING, wining and dining, coffee dates and general procrastination. However hopefully after this weekend I will get back into study mode, cannot afford to have too much time away from the books!
So the upcoming SwotVac/ Holiday period will be spent studying for the exam, finishing the essay, working on my literature review and hopefully beginning my interviews and then the fun process of transcribing. I will probabally do a round-up post of Semester 1 towards the end of the holidays but for the next few weeks, I will replace my Honours posts with general ‘Life’ ones. Also, if anyone is keen to write a guest post, please contact me via the contact page as I have some spots coming up in the next few months.
